BIOGRAPHY
With a crystal clear and agile voice, the soprano Irina Kalderon, specializes in the Baroque and 20th-21st century music repertoire, with a particular passion for new and ancient undiscovered musical pieces.

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Irina Kalderon has studied singing and piano from the age of five. She has received her Music and voice training in the Conservatories of Sofia, Jerusalem and Luxembourg, with teachers such as Lilith Verhelst, Véronique Nosbaum, Mariette Lenz, Luisa Mauro, Bibiana Goldenthal and Ayala Sicron. Irina has been a member of the "Sequenda" and "CAPE" Opera Studios in Luxembourg and she is a laureate of numerous Masterclasses with musicians, such as: Maria-Cristina Kiehr, Sara Mingardo, Roberto Balconi, Barbara Frittoli, Sophy Pathy, Enza Ferrari, Umbero Finazzi, Elena Filipova, Diego Mingolla, Gerlinde Sämann and Emmanuelle de Negri (Les Arts Florissants).
Irina specializes in the Baroque and chamber music repertoire of the 20th and 21st century. She has also participated in numerous Opera productions in roles matching her agile and high coloratura soprano, such as: La fée, le Rossignol and la Bergère from "L'enfant et les sortilèges", Carolina from "Il matrimonio segreto", Olympia from "Les Contes d'Hoffmann", Sandrina from "La finta giardiniera", Pamina from "Die Zauberflöte", Adina from "L'Elisir d'Amore", Norina from "Don Pasquale", Gretel from "Hänsel und Gretel", Calisto from "La Calisto". In 2025, Irina takes part in productions of "Dido and Aeneas" as Belinda in London (The Cockpit), in "L'incornazione di Poppea" as Drusilla, in France, and in "L'enfant et les sortilèges" in CAPE, Luxembourg.
With her Baroque ensemble "Les
Promenades" (cembalo, recorder, viola de gamba and
voice), Irina performs regularly French, German, Italian and English baroque
repertoire in Luxembourg and around Europe.
